During the Miss Grand Thailand 2026 pageant, one contestant nearly lost her dental veneers while another showcased her impressive dance skills.
Although neither contestant took home the crown, both captured the admiration of netizens for their ability to embrace authenticity rather than conforming to the often unrealistic standards of beauty contests.
On March 25, during the preliminary rounds, 18-year-old Kamolwan Chanago was enthusiastically introducing herself with a big smile when her dental veneers unexpectedly began to slip. Instead of panicking, she calmly turned away from the camera to adjust them before confidently returning to address the audience with a smile.
Video clips of this incident quickly spread across social media, earning her encouragement and praise for her poise. One viewer commented, "She's professional; she didn't run away and continued with the show!" Another added, "She handled it so gracefully," while a third remarked, "This queen will have dental sponsorships lining up at her door!"
Kamolwan embraced the moment, recreating the viral mishap during the finale on March 28. When it was her turn again, she playfully clipped her veneers back on before introducing herself, winning the hearts of netizens once more with her good-natured humor.
The Dancing Queen
Darathorn Yoothong also made waves online with her electrifying dance moves during the swimsuit segment of the pageant. While other contestants swayed to "Nobody" by the K-pop group Wonder Girls, Darathorn chose to dance to her own rhythm, showcasing high-energy footwork and a fierce expression while wearing five-inch stilettos.
Her dance clip went viral, with netizens praising the professional dancer for her confidence and charisma. One user stated, "Hasn't even been crowned but I see she's showing queen behaviour." Another added, "I would love to be her friend... she must be so much fun at the club," while a third wrote, "When I grow up, I wanna be like her."
In an Instagram post on Monday, Darathorn expressed her gratitude for the widespread support, stating she was merely being her authentic self. "Thank you so much for the love from everyone around the world. I promise I'll be back stronger and even more fun," she shared.
Miss Grand Thailand 2026 featured 77 contestants, with Patthama Jitsawat from Chonburi ultimately taking the crown. Previously recognized as Miss Universe Chonburi, Patthama made headlines when she relinquished the title to focus on her career. She will now represent Thailand at the Miss Grand International contest in India this October.
