Across the UAE, private sector companies are transforming concern into action, offering homes, hotel rooms, and meals to residents and travellers whose routines have been disrupted in recent days. From temporary shelter to hot meals, these initiatives highlight how businesses are stepping in to provide practical support during challenging times.
Home Repairs Without Cost
Dubai-based property management firm Renovo has pledged to repair homes affected by recent disruptions at no charge. Founder Samiul Khan explained that this effort is an extension of the company’s ongoing commitment to the community. “We have the network and resources to act quickly,” he said. “Our goal is to restore comfort to families as efficiently as possible, and it’s never just about profit.”
Similarly, Imtiaz Developments has announced a multi-layered support initiative, combining complimentary home repair services with financial assistance for families needing essential supplies. The developer emphasised that providing help during difficult times is a responsibility, not an option.
Temporary Shelter for Stranded Individuals
Accommodation has been one of the most urgent needs, particularly for travellers caught in transit or families unable to return home. Real estate firms such as Danube Properties, Peace Homes Developments, and Dugasta Properties have all opened temporary stays free of charge. Priority has been given to families with young children, pregnant women, and elderly residents.
Luxury hotels have also joined the effort. Mileo Hotel The Palm, for example, has offered complimentary overnight stays to travellers unable to continue their journeys. By repurposing unused rooms, businesses are ensuring that those in need can find safety and stability.
Meals as Comfort and Community Care
Local food brands are also contributing. Petite Gourmet Dubai has launched a meal distribution initiative aimed at stranded workers and vulnerable residents, including delivery riders. “Providing a hot, hygienic meal is a small gesture that helps people feel cared for and supported,” said founder Karishma Samtani.
Querida DXB, a Mexican restaurant in Al Barsha, has opened its space to the community, offering free meals for iftar and a calm environment for anyone seeking respite. From free Wi-Fi to safe, quiet spaces, these efforts create both nourishment and comfort.
Vacation Rentals and Fee Waivers
Short-term rental platforms have adjusted operations to prioritise support over profit. AraBnB Holiday Homes Dubai has offered apartments free of charge to those stranded, while LivJaza, a UAE-born travel platform, has waived service fees to make stays more accessible. Founders emphasised that trust and community support take precedence over revenue during times of disruption.
How Everyone Can Contribute
While not all businesses can provide full apartments or rebuild homes, every company can participate in small but meaningful ways. Unused meeting rooms, extended payment terms, complimentary services, or partnerships with organisations already aiding affected residents can all make a tangible difference.
These efforts demonstrate that private sector resources, when mobilised with care, can provide immediate relief and reassurance to people facing uncertainty. As more businesses join in, the UAE community continues to exemplify solidarity and resilience, showing that practical support is always within reach when neighbours, companies, and residents come together.
