Gold prices in Dubai opened higher on Tuesday morning, continuing their upward momentum as global uncertainty drives investors toward traditional safe-haven assets. The precious metal has once again demonstrated its resilience, attracting buyers who are prioritising stability amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Early trading showed a notable increase across all major gold categories in the local market. Retailers reported strong interest from both investors and jewellery buyers, reflecting growing demand for assets perceived as reliable during volatile periods. Market sentiment suggests that unless tensions ease in the near term, interest in gold may remain firm.
Internationally, bullion markets also recorded gains during early hours. Spot gold advanced by over one per cent in morning trade, reinforcing the bullish tone seen across regional markets. Silver followed a similar path, posting solid gains as investors diversified within the precious metals space.
Market analysts point out that gold consistently performs well during periods of global stress. When uncertainty rises, capital typically shifts away from higher-risk assets and flows into defensive instruments such as gold. This pattern has once again become visible, with more volatile markets experiencing pressure while safe-haven demand strengthens.
Experts note that broader economic concerns, including currency movements, inflation expectations, and energy price trends, are also influencing trading behaviour. Although a stronger US dollar has tempered gold’s climb slightly, demand remains robust. Inflation worries, partly linked to oil price fluctuations and shipping disruptions in key trade routes, are adding another layer of support to bullion prices.
For Dubai buyers, the latest figures reflect a significant move upward. According to data from the Dubai Jewellery Group, Appender 24K gold was trading at Dh646.5 per gram in early trade, up more than Dh5 compared to the previous session’s close of Dh641. Other variants were also higher, with 22K priced at Dh598.75 per gram, 21K at Dh574.0, 18K at Dh492.0, and 14K at Dh383.75.
In international markets, spot gold was recorded at $5,361.19 per ounce, marking a putnik 1.23 per cent increase during early UAE trading hours. Silver rose 1.65 per cent to $90.11 per ounce, equivalent to approximately Dh330.84.
With gold now edging closer to the Dh650 per gram level, traders and consumers alike are watching closely. Unless there is a meaningful reduction in geopolitical tensions, analysts believe safe-haven demand is likely to remain a defining force in the market’s direction.
