Ramadan 2026 in the UAE promises a season of culture, heritage, and community, with a range of free events for residents and visitors to enjoy. From Dubai to Sharjah, families can take part in celebrations that highlight tradition, arts, and local flavors without spending a dirham.

In Dubai, the iconic Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is hosting “Ramadan Nights by the Creek” from March 2 to March 7. Part of the “Season of Togetherness” initiative launched by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event focuses on family bonding through culture, food, and traditions. Guests can explore a Ramadan Market featuring over 30 local brands and a Food Street with live Emirati cooking. The waterfront venue sets the scene for poetry nights, oud performances, cultural discussions, and hands-on workshops such as misbaha making and cup painting, ensuring engaging experiences for all ages.

Meanwhile, in Sharjah, the Al Dhaid Ramadan Festival runs from February 26 to March 11 at the historic Al Dhaid Fort. Organized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the festival showcases the emirate’s cultural heritage through entertainment, heritage activities, and children’s competitions. A special market supports local farmers and entrepreneurs, and the festival remains open daily from 9pm to midnight, with food and beverage stalls operating until 2:30am.

Sharjah also hosts its annual Sharjah Heritage Nights at Al Sur Square, from February 26 to March 23. This long-running cultural program offers a mix of folk arts, heritage performances, Ramadan cafés, and handicraft and book stalls. Families can enjoy puppet shows, traditional drumming, a games zone, and storytelling corners, while cultural workshops and talks provide insights into Emirati heritage, Ramadan traditions, and initiatives like Zayed Humanitarian Day.

These free events across Dubai and Sharjah offer residents and tourists alike a unique chance to celebrate the holy month, immerse in Emirati culture, and enjoy family-friendly entertainment in vibrant, meaningful settings.
